Volkswagen T2 Rio Camper Van

The iconic travelling van has to be the Volkswagen T2 Van AKA the “Kombi”.

Instantly recognisable and symbolic of 70’s hippies the Kombi was never luxurious but romantics won’t have a bad word said about it.

VW Brazil is still manufacturing limited numbers, now known as the T2 Rio Camper - but with all the modern reliability and quality of a contemporary VW.

The motor is water cooled rather than air cooled and is apparently a derivative of the 1.4 litre Golf engine.

For someone who pines for the authentic hippie, traveller experience look no further than this faithful sister of the 60’s Kombi.

Retails for £21,688 ($42,000) at Danbury Motor Caravans.
