Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia

The delights of Jazz can be supped and enjoyed at the 25th Umbria Jazz Festival this summer.

The first Umbria Jazz festival took place in July 1973. Set in beautiful Perugia, it’s now regarded as one of the best such events in Europe, with big names, free daily concerts and piazzas buzzing with people.

Join the jazz fest yourself this year (11-20 July) but stay away from the crowds at the nearby Ospitalita Rurale. This agriturismo, situated in Montemelino – a tiny hilltop hamlet less than 20 miles from Perugia – oozes rural character and charm, with original wooden beamed ceilings, open fires and glorious Umbrian views.

The village even has a rustic restaurant serving home-cooked dishes.

A week costs from £432 pp with Sunvil Italy (two sharing) in July, including flights (Heathrow), car hire and seven nights’ self-catering.
