The Best Waterproof Compact Camera
I was asked the other day which compact camera would be the best for some simple underwater photography. “Nothing fancy” I was told!
Well there are some truly excellent waterproof cameras on the market these days - but the best one I’ve come across is the Vivitar ViviCam 6200W. This delightful little camera has just about everything you need, all contained within a protective rubber casing.
The spec is as follows:

• Rubber Armored
• Waterproof – 30 ft
• 2.0” Color LTPS
• 16 MB Built-in Memory
• Supports SD Cards to 1 GB
• PictBridge Support
• Flash - Built-in Multi Mode, Auto / On / Off
Retails for a very reasonable £130 ($260).
Incidentally, forget the disposable, waterproof cameras you see in supermarkets - their absolute rubbish!!
