Piedmont Truffling

Piedmont is well renound as a gastronomic paradise but it’s speciality is big truffles. That’s right, the rather dirty looking balls of fungus typically unearthed by pigs.

For 3 nights you can base yourself at a 17th century palazzo immersed by vineyards and enjoying luscious views over the Alps. The 3 nights traverse the world famous Alba Truffle Festival which includes a woodland truffle hunt with local legend and chief truffler Mario - he uses a trusty hound named Rocky, to sniff out the prized fungi. This is followed by tastings at La Spinetta vineyard and dinner at any of four Michelin starred restaurants.

Bellini Travel offer 3 nights at La Villa from £625 ($1250) including flights from Turin.
