If you don’t like tall buildings, you might want to give the Park Hyatt Shanghai a miss. It’s due to open on July 1st 2008 and will be billed as the tallest hotel on the planet.

It will comprise floors 79 to 93 of the Shanghai World Financial Center otherwise known as “The Vertical Complex City”. Situated in the heart of the Lujiazui business district in Pudong, the 492 metre SWFC, will rise to a staggering 101 storeys when complete.

Key features will include:

• 5 restaurants spread over the 87th, 91st, 92nd and 93rd floors serving a fusion of Western and Eastern cusiine.

• Spa and fitness studio on the 85th floor

• Infinity pool and whirlpool spa

• Steam rooms

• Tai-chi courtyard

• Two treatment rooms for a variety of spa services

The Park Hyatt Shanghai double room rates will start at £360 ($720) per night.
