For years I used to suffice with a plastic bag and some paper plates for a picnic. However, as I get older it seems to make more sense acquiring a proper picnic bag with all the gear.

Out of all the picnic accessories I have used, the Outwell Picnic Calypso offers the most convenient solution.

Each bag is highly portable and includes glasses, cutlery, plates and a cool-bag section for 2-4 persons (depending on the model). Retails for a very reasonable £45 ($90) at Outwell.

One if the most frustrating things about travelling is the array of adaptors and plugs you have to lug with you. This is a particularly salient problem considering the advent of ever increasing technical gadgetry e.g iPods, sat nav, laptops, digital cameras etc.

We spotted the Travel Easy Cable Bag and thought that this might be a helpful addition to our readers suitcases.

I was asked the other day which compact camera would be the best for some simple underwater photography. “Nothing fancy” I was told!

Well there are some truly excellent waterproof cameras on the market these days - but the best one I’ve come across is the Vivitar ViviCam 6200W. This delightful little camera has just about everything you need, all contained within a protective rubber casing.
