If you’re desperately trying to keep cans of drink cold or prevent an ice cream from melting, the Black and Decker Travel Cooler/Warmer is a great concept. It’s not big enough for my liking, nonetheless, for refrigerating small items on a picnic it could be a real boon.

With airlines becoming ever more stringent on luggage size and weight, it’s easy to get yourself into a muddle when you arrive at check in. Using bathroom scales is neither accurate or convenient, so what’s the solution?

You might want to give these Balanzza digital scales a whirl. They include a robust strap for attaching to your bag and a digital display which works in kilos or pounds. Portable and easy to use, the Balanzza scales are a really handy gizmo to have on holiday.

Retailing for £13 ($26) they’re not going to break the bank either!

Out of all the picnic accessories I have used, the Outwell Picnic Calypso offers the most convenient solution.

Each bag is highly portable and includes glasses, cutlery, plates and a cool-bag section for 2-4 persons (depending on the model). Retails for a very reasonable £45 ($90) at Outwell.

The Shady Beats Speaker case is a great little gadget accessory for the summer.

Suitable for summer and winter holidays the Shady Beats Speaker case carries your sunglasses or ipod and plays your ipod tunes via a flat panel speaker inbuilt into the case. It also has a water resistant exterior, anti scratch lining and a variety of colourful exteriors. I think it probably packs a kitchen sink too…
