If you’ve got young kids you know just how hard it is to get them to relax on a plane flight! You look around to scowls and piercing eyes of fellow passengers but there really isn’t much you can do about it… unless you have a Jungle Cushion that is!

The latest creation from Flutterbies.net this pillow is the perfect distraction to take offs and landings as well as the boring bit inbetween!

On the outside it has an attractive yellow and orange lion face. Designed as a pillow but also a toy, as there is a secret inside. Open up the cushion and you will be transported to a magical jungle. With a forest backdrop and animal soft toys, the cushion/playset makes it an ideal distraction for flying or long journeys. It is also washable (very handy for cabin sickness!)

Buy your kids travel cushion here.

Ok, I must admit that most holidays will either not require coat hangers or have them provided. However, I have twice stayed at hotels where coat hangers have been absent -  a real pain if you need to hang a shirt or overcoat.

A quite nice solution is the inflatable hanger. A genuine space saver in your case and convenient to have around should you need it.

I guess the ultimate purpose of the inflatable hanger is to hang wet laundry and they perform a hell of a lot better than wire hangers. Retails for £3.50 ($7).

Sleeping in a foreign bed… in the blistering heat and perhaps with a little sunburn or even heatstroke is never easy at the best of times. I’m talking about those fabulous summer holidays if you haven’t already guessed.

Thanks to a little invention called The Chillow, sleep is now a truly relaxing state of mind. The Chillow is a cooling pad that you place on top of your existing pillow to lower body temperature and stop you getting too hot in the night. It is non-toxic and hypoallergenic and has a soft foam core that absorbs water to activate it. It’s around 2cm thick and is incredibly lightweight so perfect for traveling.

I recently discovered a great hand cream formula that actually did everything it said it would! Caled Lotil, this little 50ml tube should have a place in your suitcase or rucksack wherever the destination. What I really like about this stuff is that it’s such good quality for so little money - because it’s a little thicker it goes that much further.

It’s suitable for any skin, just about anywhere on your body so perfect for after shaving, hiking, or as a moisturising formula after sunbathing.

A must have item at £2.99 a tube! (available in Boots)

Last year I was caught in Southern Spain crossing a red light. It was a complete accident and I was rightly pulled over by an angry police officer. I like to think that I can string a few sentences of Spanish together but under the pressure of the moment I crumpled and resorted to stupid pigeon English. The police officer thankfully took pity and sent me away with a flee in my ear and a few choice words in excellent English….

It was with this in mind that I dropped on the amazing service provided by CallUma. Launched in March this year the service is a membership scheme costing £19.50 per annum that offers linguistic assistance in 140 languages.

They throw up some salient examples where this could be useful:
