Never heard of it? Well you heard about it here first!
The nation is warming up to what will be a stonking year for festivals we feel, but there is one that stands out way and above the others… no swamps, swampies or general riff raff here – I’m talking about Wakestock 2008 at Blenheim Palace and you can’t get a better setting than that!

Whilst we may not be the most passionate Wakeboarders out there (water skiing but on one solo board and you do tricks!), I can’t think of a better way to enjoy a weekend. Here are just a few bands to tap along to… Groove Armada, Audio Bullies, The Streets, The Hoosiers, Friendly Fires… must I go on!
Interested… (thought you might be)- it’s happening on the 27th – 29th June at Blenheim Palace, Oxford or if you prefer The Valleys you can go to Wakestock, Abersoch on the 4th –6th July.
The best thing about this festi … we think it’s a bargain for the lineup at £85 for the three nights! Come and see us there.

The iconic travelling van has to be the Volkswagen T2 Van AKA the “Kombi”.

Instantly recognisable and symbolic of 70’s hippies the Kombi was never luxurious but romantics won’t have a bad word said about it.
VW Brazil is still manufacturing limited numbers, now known as the T2 Rio Camper - but with all the modern reliability and quality of a contemporary VW.
The motor is water cooled rather than air cooled and is apparently a derivative of the 1.4 litre Golf engine.
For someone who pines for the authentic hippie, traveller experience look no further than this faithful sister of the 60’s Kombi.
Retails for £21,688 ($42,000) at Danbury Motor Caravans.

Outward Bound is a name many of us will be familiar with. The New Zealand arm of this organisation have enjoyed great success in showing people their full potential through challenge and adventure in the outdoors. Quite frankly, I can think of no better place to do this sort of thing than New Zealand. Rugged, stunning landscapes criss crossed by streams, rivers and lakes make it ideal terrain for doing adventure activities outdoors.

According to the Outward Bound web site:
“This Outward Bound was established in 1962 and still operates from the original location, Anakiwa, in the Marlborough Sounds.
Anakiwa, near Picton, has been described as the most perfectly situated Outward Bound school in the world. The natural timbered buildings of the facilities merge gracefully into the curve of the bay and are backed by native bush.
In front stretches a long jetty where the school’s small fleet of cutters are at anchor. The ‘classrooms’ of the school are the native bush, mountains, rivers and
seaways of Marlborough.
The Outward Bound Trust of New Zealand is a member of Outward Bound International which was founded by Kurt Hahn in Wales in 1941 – there are 42 member countries.”
The adventurous 8 day Discovery course is probably regarded as the most popular - designed to instil the knowledge and belief that there is always more inside you than you think there is. Activities are designed to take you out of your comfort zone including running, swimming, sailing, rock climbing, hiking, canoeing and camping.
From £750 (US$1,600) for 8 days
