Pay a visit to Normandy in February for the Granville Carnival which lasts for four days (20-24 February) when the streets of this walled town in Normandy come alive with a fancy dress parade, floats, live music and a fairground – a nice antidote to the dull days Spring.

Rembrandt revealed: An artistic attraction in Amsterdam – from £209 pp.

2008 marks the 125th anniversary of the Rembrandt Association, which was set up to safeguard the finest Dutch works of art and keep them in their country of origin.
