I recently discovered a great hand cream formula that actually did everything it said it would! Caled Lotil, this little 50ml tube should have a place in your suitcase or rucksack wherever the destination. What I really like about this stuff is that it’s such good quality for so little money - because it’s a little thicker it goes that much further.
It’s suitable for any skin, just about anywhere on your body so perfect for after shaving, hiking, or as a moisturising formula after sunbathing.
A must have item at £2.99 a tube! (available in Boots)

It puts a smile on my face just writing this article. Carers are often the forgotten of society and it can be a thankless task - so full marks to Saga for giving this unloved section of society some recognition.
The company with it’s roots in the over 50’s market is set to offer free holidays to 100 carers a year. So if you know of someone who needs a break and is a carer - please spread the word…
In proof that private equity groups are not all bad (Saga is now owned by a private equity company) Saga will be creating the Saga Respite for Carers Charitable Trust which will include a fund of £200,000 to fund the offer.
Eligibility is defined as
“Any person over 50, who has been caring for anyone for a year - from a disabled child to an elderly relative - will be eligible to apply provided they have not taken a holiday for 12 months.”
Good on you Saga!
Personally I can’t recommend Iceland highly enough. Friendly people, great party scene, good food and spectacular scenery. Oh and you must visit the Blue Lagoon....
The opportunity to go party there is tempting, particularly with the Björk and Sigurrós incredible outdoor spectacular in Reykjavik scheduled for 28th June.
Under the midnight sun you will witness Iceland’s finest performing alongside a special guest international star, yet to be revealed.
Three nights, room only, at either the fittingly named Hotel Bjork or Hotel Cabin are from £409 pp Iceland Air (Manchester and Glasgow departures). Four nights in Iceland, departing from London Heathrow starts at £509 pp.

Last year I was caught in Southern Spain crossing a red light. It was a complete accident and I was rightly pulled over by an angry police officer. I like to think that I can string a few sentences of Spanish together but under the pressure of the moment I crumpled and resorted to stupid pigeon English. The police officer thankfully took pity and sent me away with a flee in my ear and a few choice words in excellent English....
It was with this in mind that I dropped on the amazing service provided by CallUma. Launched in March this year the service is a membership scheme costing £19.50 per annum that offers linguistic assistance in 140 languages.
They throw up some salient examples where this could be useful:
